18 April 2008 - Field Skills
Dominic Hall of Field Skills is running a mountain safety course on the 10th and 11th May in Snowdonia. Details are here. The course is aimed at people wanting to work, trek or travel in the mountains - youth group leaders, researchers or just enthusiasts. Though its focus is on overseas expeditions it may also be of interest to people working towards qualifications such as the ML.
14 April 2008 - Pinnacle Challenge
Simon Ager of Pinnacle Challenge has announced details of two new indoor instruction courses which will start from the 9th June 2008. The courses are for beginners and improvers. there is also an outdoor course. Club members will receive a 10% discount. Contact Simon for more details. The registration form is here.
11 March 2008 - Price increase at St Nicks
The entrance fee payable to St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre will increase from the 1st April. New rates for club members are £2.35 for adults and £1.30 for juniors. Non-members rates are £2.60 for adults and £1.35 for juniors. Remember the club doesn't receive any of this money, so if you climb regularly, please consider becoming a.

For those of you seriously planning ahead or looking for a holiday location, the BMC are holding their annual alpine meet in Arolla, Switzerland from the 2nd to 17th August 2008.

It's intended to keep climbers and walkers informed of the work that the Midlands Area are doing on your behalf. It will also provide additional publicity for local clubs and walls, as well as acting as a means of keeping the BMC in touch about local initiatives.
